
Polish painting on Expo in Shanghai
Polish architecture, posters, graphics and paining attract a lot of visitors to the Poland Pavilion on Expo in Shanghai. That is why in August visitors have the chance to see works of one of the most distinctive young Polish painters - Paweł Skurski.

Polish architects voted best
Kwadrat Architectural Studio in the Baltic city of Gdynia has won an international competition for the design of a World War II Museum in Gdansk. The Gdynia-based studio beat 128 competitors. The construction of the museum is to start in 2012. The official opening ceremony is planned for September 1, the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of WWII.

The internationally acclaimed Polish symphonic orchestra - Sinfonia Varsovia and Sinfonia Varsovia Foundation invite for the 10th “Sinfonia Varsovia for Its City” Festival in homage to Franciszek Wybrańczyk. This year’s edition, on from 4 to 19 September, will feature 2 symphonic and 21 chamber music concerts.

Dziecinada – Polski dziajn dla dzieci, an exhibition presenting the most interesting designs for children will open on 4 September in the Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola, near Warsaw. The exhibit will be on till 17 October.

The second edition of the International Festival of Lights Skyway is on in Toruń, the hometown of one of the greatest astronomers in the world, Mikołaj Kopernik. Toruń’s Old Town will be transformed into a gigantic, artistic Solar System.

Alvernia Production and Alvernia Studios, part of the first post-war Polish private film production studio, have started work on the Polish-American co-production “Vamps”.
>>Lodz of four cultures
The Festival Łódź of Four Cultures will take place on September 14-18 and will replace the Dialogue of Four Cultures Festival held in Łódź since 2002. The role of the event will remain the same - to present the cultures which created the industrial power of former Łódź: Polish, Jewish, German and Russian. The credo of this year’s edition of the Festival is ‘Returns’.
>>Coke Live Music Festival in Krakow
The 5th edition of Coke Live Music Festival is about to kick off. The event will bring concerts from Muse, Chemical Brothers and others. The festival will take place at an airfield of the Polish Aviation Museum in Krakow on August 20 and 21.
